About Kundalini Yoga
“Yoga means a discipline of mind and body. There is nothing mysterious about it. Yoga does not explain the meaning of life… It’s aim is to develop a quality of mind which can perceive reality and acquire self knowledge.” – Yogi Bhajan
Kundalini yoga, also known as the yoga of awareness, combines postures (asanas), breath (pranayama), and the chanting of mantras to awaken energy within our bodies. Through practice, we learn to harness this energy and create a heightened state of awareness which enables us to actualize our creative spiritual potential, and generate wellbeing and compassion for ourselves and others.
We all need to consciously develop a clear communication within ourselves and the environment in which we live, establish healthy and stress free relationships in order to achieve complete self-acceptance and self-respect. Understanding ourselves and our environment from a higher perspective as human beings is one of the outcomes of this practice.

Yoga for Valerie is not just about the practice but more about the journey that goes beyond the mat.
She was a dancer almost her whole life. Within her dance academy her professors from Joffrey would introduce and incorporate a mix of yoga with pilates in her everyday curriculum. This is when it all started clicking for her. She saw the poses as the choreography and the whole flow as a dance. She focused on really connecting all the movements continuously with prana (breathe). She found this to be not only her passion but her career and form of expressing herself in ways her words couldn’t. She had been bullied when she was younger while having to cope with her grandfathers death. This had closed her from expressing herself fully. When she realized the power that yoga and dance not only did she changed not only physically but emotionally and mentally. She couldn’t find herself doing anything else in this world than to be traveling and training herself in all styles and related content.
This is when she began her 200HR YTT in 2016 with Claudia Bustillos at Ombeats studio. This training mainly focused on Vinyasa and covering the pre-natal, mommy & me, hatha, and the business of yoga. After this she explored more studios and found a strong spiritual connection with Skanda Yoga Studio. She began her second 200HR YTT in 2018 with Anand and Sadhana. The practice of Skanda Yoga honors the tradition of yoga in its application of alignment, functional movement, conscious breathwork, philosophy, and meditation techniques. The style present traditional practices in a post-modern system based on the 13- moon calendar in order to align students with Nature’s cyclical patterns. It integrates vinyasa with ashtanga and bikram styles. Lastly, she got training in 2019 at Happy Warriors Yoga with Monika Gressier and Andrea Correia. This program is teaching kids, teenagers, and disabled. She teaches in private schools around Miami now. Her mission is to absorb all the possible and infinite knowledge in this industry so she can share this with others to empower people to connect to themselves from within and support each other as a community.
Mariana Martinez, Hatha Yoga and Kids Yoga instructor.
Within each of one us are reservoirs of untapped joy, wellbeing, and peace. Through the practices of Yoga, Meditation, and Pranayama we have an opportunity to tap into these radiant aspects of ourselves and bring them forth into our lives.
Rocio’s journey on the yogic path began here in Miami at the age of thirteen. A simple book introduced her to the basics of meditation, yoga asana, yogic nutrition and lifestyle. “I was fascinated and in love.” She found refuge in meditation and yoga in times of loss, difficulty, and stress, but it was not until a fortunate meeting with Spiritual Master Amma Sri Karunamayi in New York City that her purpose and path became crystal clear. That meeting propelled her to travel to India many times for study, practice, and self-inquiry. She completed 632 Hrs. of Certified Yoga Teacher Training from various schools. Rocio is certified to teach various modalities: Restorative yoga, Hatha Yoga, Vinyasa & Power Yoga, Mantra & Mindfulness Meditation and Breathe Work.
These practices have the power to transform, uplift, and bring us home to our most true and radiant self. They are like a fruit tree that we must care for and nourish every single day with patience and love. In time this tree will bear amazing fruits for us and the world. “My job is to share with love, and for the purpose of supporting your highest well-being.”
Rocio’s purpose is to love and serve the upliftment of our consciousness. It is her honor to be of service to those who are seeking a greater sense of well-being and transformation in their life.
